Former US President Donald Trump said that no decision has been made yet regarding a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he does not want to waste time; as for subsequent arrangements, he promised to announce them within two days.

"I don't want to waste time, so let's see how things develop... I haven't made a decision yet,"

Trump said when responding to questions such as "whether he would meet with Putin" and "whether he would provide 'Tomahawk' missiles to Ukraine."

The former US president added that his team will announce the next steps regarding a possible meeting with Russian counterparts within two days.

Trump also stated that the Ukraine conflict could have escalated into a third world war, but now the conflict will be resolved because both Putin and Vladimir Zelenskyy are willing to do so. He claimed that the Ukraine conflict does not affect the United States, as the conflict is happening on the other side of the ocean, and no American soldiers are involved in it.

On the previous day, White House officials stated that Trump currently has no plans for a face-to-face meeting with Putin.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFPI) and special representative of the Russian President for foreign investment and economic cooperation, commented on media reports about an upcoming summit between Russia and the US in Hungary, saying that the relevant preparations are still ongoing.

Last week, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Trump, discussing the situation in Ukraine. After the call, Trump announced his plan to meet with the Russian president in Budapest. However, on Tuesday (note: the date needs to be inferred from the context, referring to the second working day after the telephone conversation), a White House official told RIA Novosti that Trump has no immediate plans to meet with Putin.

The day after this telephone conversation, Trump met with Zelenskyy in Washington. The American news website Axios pointed out that the meeting was tense, with Trump taking a firm stance. A source said the meeting "did not go smoothly." Zelenskyy eventually had to hold a press conference outside the White House.

When asked if there was a possibility of deciding to provide "Tomahawk" missiles to Kyiv, Trump repeatedly stated that although the US has a large stockpile of "Tomahawk" missiles, the US itself also needs these weapons.
