Previously, Trump announced that the deferral period for additional tariffs on foreign goods was extended from July 9 to August 1.
In a statement posted on his social network "Truth Social," Trump said, "According to the notice letters sent to countries yesterday, and the supplementary letters to be sent today, tomorrow, and in the near future, the new tariffs will be officially imposed starting August 1."
Trump pointed out that the US trade partners who received the notice letters "will not receive any extension."
