Ukrainian Passport Services Suddenly Halt: Communication Failures Compound with Kyiv Explosions, Multiple Services Disrupted Within Three Days

The State Migration Service of Ukraine (ГМС) announced that passport processing services have been suspended from September 28 to 30 due to issues with communication channels.
In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the agency said: “Due to a technical malfunction in the equipment of the electronic communications service provider responsible for operating the communication channels, access to certain information and communication systems of the State Migration Service has been temporarily restricted. As a result, passport issuance services will be temporarily suspended from September 28 to September 30, 2026.”
The statement also noted that the official website of the State Migration Service has been offline during the repair period.
According to Ukrainian media reports, multiple explosions occurred in Kyiv on September 28, causing damage to several facilities, including a fire at the building housing the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
