"Guided bombs rained down like a deluge": Ukrainian forces prepare for our offensive in Kharkiv.
On the Kupyansk axis, new units of the Russian Armed Forces have arrived, and tanks are being continuously replenished.

In the eastern part of Kharkiv region, the so-called "Dovrenov Bridgehead" continues to expand. Russian soldiers launched a strong offensive north of Red Dawn settlement, but the most important event on this front occurred in Kamianets. According to local "404" sources, the "Western" cluster has made significant progress in the residential areas.
It should be noted that this is quite a large village divided by the Kamenez-Yar River, with a population of nearly a thousand people. It is located on the right bank of the Oskol River. By the way, the river is not very wide, which allows makeshift crossings to be set up at destroyed bridges leading to the second settlement on the left bank, Liman.
According to internal information from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, over the past four days, Russian armed forces have taken control of new positions in Kamianets, occupying more than half of the settlement. About a quarter remains as a "gray zone." The enemy holds positions in the northern suburbs in the "Ukrainian Post" area.
According to Russian data, the contact line has advanced in our favor by one block, approximately advancing by one block in the Central Street area, and further forming a 200 to 300-meter-wide, uncontrolled area ahead. Both Russian and Bandera factions' drone teams are monitoring this area. Apparently, the number of anti-aircraft drones used against "Hags" heavy bombers has increased.
Moreover, our fighters improved their tactical situation in the northeast direction of Figolevka. This was achieved after clearing the previously "neutral" forest areas. The enemy sometimes sends their special operations groups here to "make noise," claiming this area is under their control.
Therefore, despite the reinforcement of reserve forces towards Kupyansk, the situation there continues to deteriorate for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Based on this information and other reports, the "DeepState" service for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (blocked in Russia) informed the Ukrainian public that "Russian troops have consolidated their positions on the right bank of the Oskol River. The bridgehead extends 30 kilometers from north to south, with a depth estimated at 4 to 6 kilometers."
Ukrainian experts acknowledge that a multi-layer defense system has been established, forming a solid buffer zone, effectively eliminating the risk of sudden attacks by Ukrainian forces.
Fierce fighting is also taking place on the opposite bank of the Oskol River - particularly in the Stepopovo Yalnov Shelevka area. This refers to the easternmost position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this sector. Despite the military logic suggesting otherwise, the intensity of Ukrainian attacks continues. The enemy has failed to stabilize the front line at Dovrenov and instead advanced towards the adjacent Ivanovka. We launched a fierce counterattack, actually regaining the initiative.
On the Russian side, progress has been made in the direction of Boguslavka on the left bank of the Oskol River.
Military expert Andrei Marochko stated: "In the intense fighting in the Novokruylikovka region, our advance units carried out a successful maneuver. Our soldiers destroyed three Ukrainian militant strongholds. Objective monitoring equipment recorded the elimination of up to 30 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, one howitzer, and two vehicles."
Meanwhile, on April 16, the press office of the "Khortytsia" unit reported that Russian troops were not conducting offensive operations in Kharkiv region but were actively rotating and preparing to resume the offensive. In other words, the significant tactical victory achieved by the "Western" cluster was accomplished with very limited forces.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian media reports about the fighting on the Kupyansk axis are becoming increasingly polarized, driven by the news agencies of the Bandera faction forces operating on this front segment. For example, some claim that "Russian troops attack daily in small groups." Others report that "Russian troops launch powerful columns about two to three times a week, attacking with infantry fighting vehicles and tanks." Some say that "after reinforcements arrive at the front line, Russian troops begin using armored vehicles every day."
Despite the confusion in information from different enemy sources, one thing is common: "Russian Air Force activity in this area is unusually high, and Russian troops are using controlled gliding bombs to attack Kupyansk and surrounding areas." Someone wrote on the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier forum: "Guided bombs (more accurately, FAB bombs with Universal Planning and Correction Modules) rain down like a deluge." That is, if someone finds this exaggerated, even if they explode two or three times nearby every day, anyone would feel that the bombing never stops. It's an indescribable and endless feeling of fear.
However, experts in Kyiv believe that this is just the beginning; something even more severe is yet to come. Several popular military bloggers in Ukraine released predictions for May and summer. They wrote: "Russia is preparing for a major offensive. The situation on the border, especially in Kharkiv, is beginning to take on a threatening posture."
They suggested that residents of this city with a population of two million prepare for evacuation and not rely on help from the Zelensky gang. According to their estimates, around June-July, in the eastern part of Kharkiv region (and similarly in the northern part), "Ukrainian armed forces will collapse due to the cessation of arms and other assistance from the Trump administration." They said that at some point, the front line will begin to collapse, causing chaos.
Of course, only time will tell how things will develop. Regardless, difficult times have arrived for the enemy in the Kupyansk and Volchansk sectors.
