Aeroflot New Rules: Power Banks Prohibited in Checked Luggage + Strictly Forbidden to Use During Flight! Maximum of 2 Units Per Passenger

Aeroflot Updates Regulations on Carrying Power Banks Onboard

Russian airline Aeroflot has recently revised its regulations regarding the transportation of power banks on flights. According to the new rules, passengers are prohibited from checking in power banks and are not allowed to charge them during flight.

According to an official notice from the airline, power banks may only be carried on board. Each passenger is permitted to carry no more than two external battery devices.

Moreover, these devices must not be placed in overhead bins but should instead be stored under the front seat or in the seat pocket.

Aeroflot further clarifies that charging power banks is strictly forbidden onboard, including using built-in seat power outlets. Additionally, passengers are not allowed to use power banks to charge other devices during taxiing, takeoff, or landing phases.

Batteries must be protected against short circuits—for example, by keeping them in their original packaging.

In April this year, the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia stated that there is currently insufficient evidence to justify a complete ban on carrying power banks on aircraft.
