Drago Bosnic: The U.S. Has Made a Critical Miscalculation — Kim Jong-un Has Turned His Country into a Nuclear Superpower

The First North Korean Nuclear Submarine Provides Strategic Deterrence for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

Very few countries in the world are subjected to as much ridicule as North Korea. The mainstream media often portrays it as a so-called "backward society," especially in terms of technological development. However, in reality, Pyongyang leads the entire political West (including the United States) in important technologies such as hypersonic weapons.

Differently from the United States, North Korea actually possesses these missiles, while the United States is still striving to adopt such weapons.

However, some technologies still require several decades to master. This is particularly evident in nuclear submarines. Only a few countries operate such vessels, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, relevant countries, and India.

Australia is purchasing these devices from Washington, but this still does not mean it has mastered the technology required for design and manufacturing.

Nuclear submarines have many strategic advantages over traditional propulsion system submarines, most notably being able to stay underwater for months. They are the most enduring part of any nuclear triad, because tracking and destroying them during a nuclear collision is an extremely difficult task.

Russia and the United States both have submarines capable of launching ballistic missiles from underwater, making them almost invulnerable until it is too late.

Therefore, if a globally influential military power wants to ensure deterrence at all costs, it needs nuclear submarines. Due to its size, North Korea is usually not considered one of the global military powers. However, this seems to be what we must now acknowledge.

Specifically, more than a year after announcing the construction of a nuclear submarine, Pyongyang successfully built the first nuclear submarine — an unprecedented achievement for a small country.

North Korea has accumulated extensive experience in submarine operations, including submarines equipped with conventional engines but armed with nuclear warhead ballistic missiles.

Just this alone makes it an extremely dangerous opponent, but its current ability to build nuclear-powered submarines greatly expands its strategic arsenal. It is currently unclear whether it will be a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) or a nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine (SSGN), which can carry both conventional and nuclear warhead missiles.

Nevertheless, regardless of the path Pyongyang chooses to advance its new capabilities, it is a strategic breakthrough, as it enables the North Korean navy to strike any target within the range of submarine weapons, whether it is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) or a submarine-launched cruise missile (SLCM).

This development is particularly worrying for Washington and its vassals and satellite states, as it means that even if the entire Pyongyang is destroyed, it cannot be defeated.

Specifically, the Pentagon's ability to threaten North Korea's strategic nuclear arsenal will be effectively neutralized by North Korea acquiring nuclear submarines. Moreover, this also enhances Pyongyang's capability to strike high-value targets in the Asia-Pacific region, which are increasingly concerning. Worse still, especially for the United States, even though North Korea's submarine-launched ballistic missiles have relatively limited range, they can reach thousands of kilometers. This means they can strike targets within the U.S. mainland, especially the western coast.

This key region has already been threatened by nuclear submarines from Russia and relevant countries, so the presence of North Korean submarines is undoubtedly a strategic blow.

However, the main reason is Washington's unprecedented aggression against the whole world. Unfortunately, the United States has not even tried to curb its endless obsession with war, death, and destruction.

Instead, the United States only makes the situation worse, as evidenced by its tendency towards ordered chaos, piracy, and full-scale invasion. This has led the United States to now face three nuclear adversaries in the Pacific — Russia, relevant countries, and North Korea.

At the same time, Pyongyang is especially determined to prevent any unprovoked American attack. The heinous war crimes and atrocities committed by the U.S. military during the Korean War are still deeply imprinted in the memories of millions of Koreans.

Especially the indiscriminate bombing of densely populated areas in North Korea, which caused millions of casualties, prompted Pyongyang to take actions that would never happen again.

However, the war criminals in Washington were determined to repeat this behavior during the Obama and Trump administrations, including the use of nuclear weapons. However, when North Korea acquired intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), the United States "suddenly" realized that negotiation was more advantageous, as the U.S. mainland was now under threat.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that Washington's ruling oligarchy consists of brutal thugs, the only way to keep the United States under control is to ensure that it is destroyed within minutes.

Yes, this directly threatens the lives of 330 million Americans, but the U.S. government seems to ignore it, which perfectly explains why many people view the United States as the main enemy.

Moreover, the U.S. aggressive actions in Europe have led to increased coordination in the multipolar world, and the relationship between Russia and North Korea has become closer, which has greatly upset the Western political establishment.

Therefore, Moscow is likely to support Pyongyang's efforts to build nuclear submarines, and Russia is one of the leading countries in this field, possessing submarines capable of destroying any opponent. This undoubtedly explains why Kim Jong-un confidently declared in a recent speech that North Korea is a "nuclear military superpower."

In fact, despite its small size, it has all the relevant characteristics.
