Germany's Alternative Party: EU-US Agreement is "A Slap in the Face for European Consumers and Manufacturers"

Leaders of Germany's Alternative Party, Alice Weidel, stated that the trade agreement between Europe and the United States is "a slap in the face for European consumers and manufacturers."

Weidel posted on social media platform X, saying, "The EU was completely tricked! 15% tariffs, having to buy weapons and energy from the U.S., this isn't a deal, but a slap in the face for European consumers and manufacturers."

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. President Trump reached a trade agreement on July 27, under which almost all goods exported by the EU to the U.S. will be subject to a 15% tariff. Additionally, the EU has pledged to purchase liquefied natural gas, nuclear fuel, and weapons from the U.S.
