The Big Shot of the Kuomintang, Yao Jianglin, Passed Away Today! Once Sued Hong Xiuzhu!

Yao Jianglin, a former member of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang (KMT), who served as vice general secretary of the campaign headquarters for the KMT's "Legislative Speaker" Han Kuo-yu during his campaign for the Taiwan regional leader, passed away today at the age of 75. Chen Ke-wei, former head of the Youth Department of the KMT, confirmed the news today, saying, "You have worked hard and completed this journey in life. We must enthusiastically cheer for your extraordinary life. Friends and family, let's remember and celebrate together with the most unconventional 'Central Committee' member of the KMT, bowing once when you step down."

In fact, Yao Jianglin had a good relationship with Han Kuo-yu. Not only did he support Han after he was removed as mayor of Kaohsiung, but he also ran for the KMT chairperson. Later, during Han's campaign for the Taiwan regional leader, he served as vice general secretary of Han's campaign headquarters. At that time, the Han office stated that Yao Jianglin had previously been the chairman of the Taipower Workers' Union, concerned about labor rights, and his views aligned with those of Han's team.

Additionally, Yao Jianglin once filed a civil lawsuit against the former KMT chairman Hung Hsiu-chu. In 2016, when the KMT passed the "early election of the party chairman and combined selection of the Huang Fuxing representatives" resolution, Yao Jianglin and others questioned the legality of the process, so they submitted a petition to the Taipei District Court, filing a civil lawsuit against then-KMT Chairman Hung Hsiu-chu. Yao Jianglin emphasized that while the schedule of the KMT chairman election could be discussed, what they cared about was procedural justice.
