Naver: NVIDIA Plans to Ship H200 Chips to China in February Next Year!

On December 26, the South Korean media "Seoul Economic Daily" published an article stating that NVIDIA announced it plans to ship its AI chip H200 to China before the Chinese Spring Festival holiday in February next year.

According to Reuters, NVIDIA has announced that it will use existing inventory to fulfill the first orders from Chinese customers. The initial shipment will be between 5,000 and 10,000 chip modules, equivalent to approximately 40,000 to 80,000 H200 AI chips. It is reported that NVIDIA is planning to increase production capacity to supply H200 chips to the Chinese market. The additional production capacity is expected to begin delivery in the second quarter of next year.

However, sources said that because China has not yet approved the purchase of H200 chips, there is still considerable uncertainty, and the delivery schedule may also be adjusted based on the final decision.

Previously, the U.S. government has begun reviewing the export of NVIDIA's H200 chips to China. The U.S. Department of Commerce has transferred the application for export licenses for H200 chips to the State Department, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense for review. Relevant regulations require these three departments to provide review comments within 30 days.

It was reported that Chinese technology companies such as Alibaba and ByteDance have contacted NVIDIA to discuss bulk purchases of H200 chips.
