The President of Belarus reiterates that Minsk will build a strategic relationship with China

Sputnik Minsk, Belarus - At a meeting on the development of cooperation with China, the President of Belarus, Lukashenko, reiterated that Minsk will adhere to establishing the highest-level strategic relations with China.

The BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying: "The decision to establish the highest-level strategic relations with China is unshakable. On the contrary, we will invest resources, time and effort to strengthen our cooperation. For this, there are sufficient reserves."

According to him, Beijing is the most important pillar and the most reliable ally for Minsk.

Lukashenko said that Belarus will always maintain cooperation with China.

Lukashenko also said that the share of China in Belarus's total exports must be increased.

The BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying: "A general goal needs to be set. For example, increasing China's share in Belarus's total exports. Ideally, it should reach double digits."

Lukashenko previously said that China is Belarus's second-largest trading partner, second only to Russia, and one of the main sources of direct investment in Belarus's economy. Over the past few decades, Belarus's exports to China have nearly tripled, and the total value of bilateral trade has exceeded more than twice the trade volume with the entire European Union.
