Trump Regrets: He Won't Lower Tariffs on China Unless There Are Substantial Actions from China

Today, Trump said that he won't lower the high tariffs on China unless China takes substantial actions. He also mentioned that the 90-day tariff deferral period may not be extended. The U.S. will reach agreements with some countries, but it will also formulate agreements to "set tariffs." Previously, it was revealed that future tariffs on China would be significantly reduced. However, Treasury Secretary Bostan later stated that the Trump administration would not unilaterally lower the tariff rate.

In response, during his flight to Rome, Italy, aboard Air Force One, Trump accepted media interviews and expressed that Bostan was correct. "I won't lower it (the tariff) unless China gives us substantial content," he said.
