South Korean media: China's trade surplus reached nearly $1.2 trillion last year, setting a new historical record!

On January 14, the South Korean media "Global Economy" published an article stating that last year, China's trade volume reached a historic high of 45.47 trillion yuan, and its trade surplus also set a record of about 1.2 trillion US dollars.

According to data from China Customs, last year China's total import and export volume was 45.47 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.8% compared to the previous year. Therefore, despite the high tariffs imposed by the U.S. government and geopolitical risks, China's trade scale has shown a growth trend for nine consecutive years since 2017.

Last year, China's export volume increased by 6.1% to 26.99 trillion yuan; imports increased by 0.5% to 18.4 trillion yuan. The total export volume, total import volume, and total import and export volume of last year all exceeded the historical records set in 2024.

Last year, China's trade surplus reached a record high of 1.189 trillion US dollars, an increase of 20% year-on-year. China conducted trade with 240 trading partners, and the trade volume with more than 190 partners achieved growth.

The trade volume with the United States reached 4.01 trillion yuan, accounting for 8.8% of the total import and export volume. Trade volume with countries along the "Belt and Road" reached 23.6 trillion yuan, growing by 6.3%, accounting for 51.9% of the total trade volume.
