[Trump Envoy May Meet Putin Today]

On April 11, Axios reported that U.S. President Trump's envoy, Steve Witkowski, has arrived in Russia. He may meet with Russian President Putin on April 11.

The "Russian Business Consulting Daily (Ukrainian Edition)" cited Axios as reporting this news.

According to a source familiar with the trip, Trump's diplomatic representative, Steve Witkowski, visited Russia, and it is expected that he will meet with Putin on Friday. FlightRadar data also confirmed Witkowski's visit to Russia.

The report stated that Trump was disappointed by the lack of substantial progress in negotiations over the past few weeks and at one point said that Putin's comments about Ukraine "angered" him. A source familiar with the matter said that if no ceasefire agreement is reached by the end of this month, Trump may impose additional sanctions on Russia through executive power or request Congress to propose new sanctions legislation.

Trump said on Thursday at a government meeting, "We are making progress. We hope that we are quite close to reaching a cessation of hostilities agreement between Russia and Ukraine."

Last week, Witkowski met with Putin's special representative, Kirill Dmitriev, in Washington to continue negotiations on the Ukraine ceasefire.

On April 10, the U.S. and Russia reached a prisoner exchange agreement, which includes the release of Kseniya Kalenina, who holds American and Russian dual citizenship. The negotiations regarding this exchange were a result of the meeting between Witkowski and Putin in March.
