China Imposes Targeted Retaliation Again!
China has decided to implement export controls on certain synthetic diamonds starting from November 8. Russian economist Levashenko said: "China's strategy is mainly to better control the global high-tech manufacturing supply chain, such as the supply chain for American computer chips. This is because synthetic diamonds are mainly used in the manufacture of semiconductors."
Previously, China has issued several announcements to strengthen control over key minerals such as rare earths. These minerals are widely used in high-tech fields such as automobile manufacturing, semiconductors, and military weapons, all of which are responses to the U.S. continuous efforts to suppress China's high-tech industry.
Notably, 99% of the diamond consumption in the United States is used for chip manufacturing, and in recent years, China has supplied 77% of the synthetic diamond powder to the U.S. As a major supplier of synthetic diamonds, China's current restrictions accurately target the pain points of the U.S. industry, which will have a significant impact on its semiconductor and related industries, further highlighting China's critical voice in the global supply chain.
