The Japanese government has not apologized for the incident involving the invasion of the Chinese embassy.

On March 25, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Toshio Kinbara expressed regret during a press briefing regarding the incident on the previous day, when a current member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force illegally entered the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo.

Kinbara also revealed that security measures around the Chinese embassy have been strengthened, with an increased number of police officers deployed.

"It is truly regrettable that a Self-Defense Force member, who should abide by the law, was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully entering a building," he said.

In response to China's demand for measures to prevent recurrence, he stated: "We will cooperate with relevant departments and agencies, take appropriate countermeasures in accordance with international law and Japan's domestic laws and regulations, including measures to prevent such incidents from happening again."

Shota Murata, a member of the Self-Defense Force stationed at the Ehime base in Miyazaki Prefecture, traveled without leave from Ehime City to Hakata Station via express bus on the day before the incident—March 23—and then took a Shinkansen train from Hakata Station to Tokyo.

Murata boasted: "I will kill Chinese embassy personnel in the name of God."
