White House deleted a video of Sabrina Carpenter calling it "evil and disgusting," and then released another video mocking her
The online feud between the White House and Sabrina Carpenter escalated further on Friday. The White House released a manipulated video making it look like the pop singer said she would arrest Marcelo Hernandez, a Saturday Night Live actor of Cuban/Dominican descent, because he was "too illegal." In the original clip, Carpenter said she would arrest someone "because he was too hot."
Earlier this week, Carpenter strongly opposed the White House using her music in a video without permission. The video was made to celebrate people who were arrested during protests against ICE raids, and it was accompanied by her 2024 hit song "Juno." She replied under the video posted by the White House: "This video is evil and disgusting. Don't use me or my music to endorse your inhumane agenda anymore."
After her comment was viewed over 140 million times, the White House deleted that video but then released this new video, which altered her lines from a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. The video also celebrated the ICE arrests, and added a caption above Carpenter's image: "Public service announcement: If you are an undocumented immigrant who has committed a crime, you will be arrested and deported."
