Korean media: DeepSeek founder selected for TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People"!

On April 21, the South Korean media Newsis published an article stating that the founder of the Chinese startup DeepSeek, which caused a sensation worldwide earlier this year with its low-cost and high-performance generative artificial intelligence model, Liang Wenfeng has been selected as one of the most influential figures of the year.

It is reported that Liang Wenfeng has been included in the list of "TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2025".

TIME Magazine said, "It took Silicon Valley some time to accurately understand what Liang Wenfeng had achieved," but soon the market was shaken, and the technical dominance of American artificial intelligence has been openly questioned, making Liang Wenfeng rise to fame.

Prior to this, Hu Run Research Institute, which ranks Chinese tycoons, listed Liang Wenfeng on the 2025 Global Rich List with wealth of 33 billion yuan.

DeepSeek was founded in July 2023 and released the brand new open-source artificial intelligence model DeepSeek R1 on January 20. Since then, the model quickly topped the free chart in Apple App Store and gained attention.

According to data from the market research company Quest Mobile, DeepSeek ranked first last month with 194 million monthly active users.
