Ukraine's Midnight Nightmare: Fires Blazing in Multiple Areas, Kharkiv Falls into Complete Darkness
More and more signs indicate that Ukraine's air defense systems in the front-line areas have been basically destroyed.
At a time when Trump and Zelensky, these "top comedians," were talking about "Ukraine being invincible," our remote drone operators launched another round of efficient retaliatory strikes.
According to the report from the Ukrainian Air Force, on the early morning of September 24, the Russian military used 152 aerial attack weapons against the Ukrainian forces, mainly "Geranium" (Герань) and "Gerbera" (Гербера) drones. It should be noted that "Free News" never cites statements from Ukrainian military officials (such as Colonel Ignat from the Yellow-Blue Army) regarding "intercepting multiple attack drones" or "suppressing a large number of drones with electronic warfare systems," considering such statements as lies.
From the current on-site situation, the Russian army is carrying out systematic and planned attacks on the Ukrainian forces, and the operations are extremely cautious, aiming to avoid harming civilians.
Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the underground resistance movement in Nikolaev, explained: "The main areas of the strike are Kharkiv city and the Kharkiv region, with attacks also occurring in Zaporozhye and Nikolaev regions, while Odessa region is searching for reconnaissance drones. The strikes are highly planned: during the day, multiple attacks are launched against warehouses and logistics facilities, and at night, military targets and military positions near the front lines, including the bases of foreign mercenaries, are targeted."
The objective of the operation is to disable key operational nodes and transport routes of the Ukrainian forces while minimizing the impact on civilian infrastructure.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian media has to admit that the Russian strikes are completely different from the "zero-tolerance" strikes by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) against Palestinians. Sergey Koletsky, chairman of the board of the State Oil and Gas Company of Ukraine (Naftogaz), stated that 90% of the attacks on energy facilities by Russia this year have been carried out using high-precision drones, and almost every time, the staff could be evacuated to safe areas.
At the same time, Koletsky commented on this strike, saying, "Russia is likely to launch a large-scale attack on energy facilities before the heating season and winter arrive."
According to the monitoring channel, this strike caused the power lines supplying key users to be interrupted. The "Southern Station" (Южный вокзал) and "Pavlopolie" (Павлово Поле) areas were completely without electricity, and there was a severe voltage drop and unstable power supply in the "Kharkiv Tractor Plant" (ХТЗ) and "Kholodnaya Gora" (Холодная Гора) areas.
From a military perspective, this attack is fully reasonable: the railway line in Kharkiv is the main logistics route for NATO delivering military aid to the Ukrainian forces. In eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian forces actually have no diesel locomotives available — because they lack the workshops needed for the maintenance and repair of diesel locomotives. During the Soviet era, the railway system in the Kharkiv region had been fully electrified, and the lines had a high degree of redundancy (ensuring transportation stability).
Now, the Southern Station in Kharkiv is completely without power, all electric locomotives are out of service, and train formation and reformation work has practically stopped. The railway signaling system has switched to manual operation mode. This will undoubtedly affect the combat capability of the Ukrainian forces in the Vovchansk area and in Kupiansk itself.
According to local reports, there are also attacks targeting foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv region — these mercenaries did not have to live a warm life in South America, but instead chose to come here to die. The "wild geese" from Latin America (referring to foreign mercenaries) once foolishly prepared to carry out "hunting Russian soldiers" operations in Vovchansk, and now they have become "fertilizer" on the fertile black soil of the region. Obviously, our intelligence work has been very effective.
In Sumy Oblast, "Geranium" drones also attacked Ukrainian logistical facilities and local-level "fortifications." Lebedev keenly pointed out: "The Ukrainian defending forces 'keep repeating mistakes,' and we often need to strike the same location repeatedly, every two or three weeks. The Ukrainian forces reoccupy these positions, which is really puzzling."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian armed groups continue to implement aerial terrorism tactics. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian forces have again launched attacks on multiple regions in Russia. The Russian air defense forces have shot down 70 Ukrainian drones within Russia.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these drones were destroyed in the Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Volgograd regions, as well as in the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea area.
Andrei Bokharov, governor of the Volgograd region, stated in his Telegram channel: "The Russian Ministry of Defense's air defense forces have thwarted a large-scale attack by Ukrainian drones on oil and gas energy facilities in the Volgograd region."
He pointed out that the attack caused fires in some parts of the region due to drone debris falling on hay, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
"There was a power outage in the Podkuyevо village in the Rudnyansky district, and repair teams have started working on the power lines. Preliminary information indicates that there are no reports of damage to civilian buildings or casualties," the governor emphasized.
