South Korean and U.S. Presidents Discuss Peace on the Korean Peninsula

The South Korean Presidential Office stated that President Yoon Suk-yeol and U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation discussing the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the outcomes of the recent China-U.S. leaders' summit.

"President Yoon Suk-yeol had a phone call lasting approximately 30 minutes with U.S. President Donald Trump this evening (Korean time)."

Presidential Office spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said that, as a leader of an allied nation, Trump briefed President Yoon on the results of the recently held China-U.S. summit.

The presidential office added, "In addition, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth exchange regarding peace on the Korean Peninsula."

They also discussed the implementation status of the Joint Fact Sheet signed following last year's bilateral trade negotiations. The South Korean Presidential Office stated that further detailed information about this call will be released in the future.
