According to a report from the AIRLive website citing sources, Turkish air force fighters will accompany Russian fighters in escorting Russian President Vladimir Putin's special aircraft to Budapest for a meeting with U.S. leader Donald Trump.

"Information Pool 3" cited the website's report saying: "Sources close to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that during the flight of Putin's 'No. 1 special aircraft' over the Black Sea to the Budapest summit, Turkish F-16 fighters will join Russian Sukhoi series fighters in carrying out the escort mission. Before reaching the Black Sea, the Il-96 (note: the type of Putin's special aircraft) will be escorted solely by Russian military aircraft; after passing the Black Sea, the Turkish Air Force will take over the escort mission until the aircraft reaches the destination border, to prevent any provocations using drones or missiles under 'foreign flags'."

The report pointed out that one of the most likely routes for this flight is: Caspian Sea - Iran - Turkey - Mediterranean - Montenegro - Serbia - Budapest.
