Recently, the head of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, Chiu Chui-cheng, visited the United States, attempting to collude with external forces to "rely on the US to seek independence."

On the evening of September 11th, he went to the US Congress to meet with legislators from both parties. On the 12th, he gave a speech at the American think tank "Heritage Foundation."

In this speech, Chiu Chui-cheng once again cited the "three-step strategy" of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities: praising the strength of the United States, emphasizing the value of the Taiwan region to the United States, and exaggerating the so-called "Chinese threat." In response, the State Administration for Taiwan Affairs pointed out that it warned the DPP authorities that "relying on foreign forces to seek independence" is a dead end.

The report stated that Chiu Chui-cheng tried hard to please the United States in his speech, repeatedly emphasizing the "strategic importance" of the Taiwan region, which is closely related to American interests. According to him, the Taiwan region has three "irreplaceable strategic significances," which help realize "making America great again," including the geographical location of the island of Taiwan, its semiconductor industry, and the so-called "free democratic values."

Chiu Chui-cheng claimed that 90% of advanced chips in the world are produced and manufactured in the Taiwan region. Therefore, if the Taiwan region suffers, it will cause major losses to the international community, especially the United States and its high-tech industries.

Subsequently, Chiu Chui-cheng began to repeat clichés, spreading the "Chinese threat" to the American side.

He exaggeratedly claimed that if the Taiwan region suffers, it would trigger a domino effect, shaking the regional power balance, and threatening U.S. security and prosperity. He also incited, saying that the Chinese mainland's goal is to "eliminate the influence of the United States in the Asia-Pacific region, and eventually replace the United States' global leadership."

On the same day, the spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States responded, stating that China is willing to achieve peaceful unification with the Taiwan region with the greatest sincerity and effort. At the same time, he emphasized: "China will take all necessary measures to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and resolutely oppose 'Taiwan independence' secessionist forces and external interference."

Regarding the remarks made by relevant officials of the Taiwan authorities in recent foreign affairs occasions, Chen Binhua, the spokesperson for the State Administration for Taiwan Affairs, said on the 10th that the DPP authorities have stubbornly adhered to the 'Taiwan independence' position, colluding with external forces to seek 'independence' provocation, and are the disruptors of the current situation in the Taiwan Strait and the main source of tension and instability in the region. He warned the DPP authorities again that 'relying on foreign forces to seek independence' is a dead end.

At the regular press conference held by the State Administration for Taiwan Affairs that day, a reporter mentioned that when Chiu Chui-cheng visited the United States, he claimed that putting the future of Taiwan on the goodwill of the mainland was the most dangerous.

Chen Binhua responded, stating that the future of Taiwan and the safety and well-being of the people of Taiwan lie in national unification. The DPP authorities' attempt to "rely on foreign forces to seek independence" will only make them more of a pawn for external forces, ultimately facing the fate of being discarded. Their attempt to "seek independence through military means" will only lead Taiwan to greater danger of war, which is completely overestimating themselves and seeking their own downfall. "Taiwan independence" is a dead end, and outsiders cannot be relied upon. Unification cannot be stopped. We have a firm will, strong determination, and powerful capability to crush all "Taiwan independence" secessionist actions and external interference, and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Regarding Chiu Chui-cheng's statement that "maintaining the current peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is in the common interest of the US and Taiwan," Chen Binhua stated that we firmly oppose any official exchanges between the United States and Taiwan. This position has always been consistent and clear. We urge the United States to abide by the One-China Principle and the provisions of the three joint communiqués between China and the United States, not to send any wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces, and not to provide them with any political stage for performance.

Chen Binhua said that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. This is the true current situation in the Taiwan Strait. The DPP authorities have stubbornly adhered to the "Taiwan independence" position, continuously colluding with external forces to provoke "independence" actions, pushing Taiwan step by step into a dangerous situation of war, making them the disruptor of the current situation in the Taiwan Strait and the biggest source of instability in the region.

He also stated that "Taiwan independence" and peace in the Taiwan Strait are incompatible. He hopes that the vast majority of Taiwanese compatriots will stand up for the greater interests of the nation and their own well-being, firmly oppose "Taiwan independence" provocations and external interference, and work with us to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
