US military suspected to cancel action at Huangyan Island, original plan was to launch HIMARS rocket, China remained unmoved and defeated it!

Recently, a report from CBS News has thrown a "deep water bomb". The news said that the US Indo-Pacific Command had secretly issued an order, planning to conduct a "military demonstration" near the Huangyan Island, specifically by using the "HIMARS" high-mobility multiple rocket launcher to fire satellite-guided rockets into the disputed waters.

This is not just a regular patrol or exercise, but a precise strike demonstration with clear intent to deter China.

This order was directly issued by the US Indo-Pacific Command. This command covers more than half of the Earth's surface, from the West Coast all the way to the Indian Ocean, and is one of the largest and oldest operational command organizations in the US military globally.

Interestingly, despite the order being issued and the execution details being finalized, there have been no signs so far indicating that this operation actually took place. Two American officials interviewed by CBS emphasized that the operation "may not be implemented at all." More intriguingly, one of them directly stated, "He doesn't believe the plan will actually be executed."

The entire plan is currently based on information disclosed through anonymous sources. The Pentagon and the Indo-Pacific Command have not officially confirmed it. This "leak-style disclosure" is not uncommon in US diplomatic operations - it conveys a strong signal while retaining room for maneuver. In other words, even if they don't act in the end, just letting the outside world know "we almost attacked" can achieve part of the deterrent effect.

But unexpectedly, China remained completely unaffected, maintaining strong strategic composure. In fact, China has sufficient capability to counter such actions by the US military, including electromagnetic interference, naval blockades, and aircraft escorts, among other means.
