According to Taiwan media reports, the Chinese mainland has imposed sanctions on Japanese Diet member Keiji Kono, who has repeatedly visited Taiwan. The Taiwan Foreign Affairs Department loudly protested (on March 31) that "Beijing is using so-called 'sanctions' and other means to intimidate and pressure Taiwan's so-called 'international friends,' and we hereby express strong protest and serious condemnation."
The absurd rhetoric from 'Taiwan independence' institutions not only exemplifies the typical act of forgetting one's roots by 'Taiwan independence' forces, but also exposes their disgraceful reliance on Japan to pursue 'independence' and willingness to serve as external pawns. Keiji Kono is an extreme right-wing figure who once glorified Japan's colonial aggression history, openly visited Taiwan to incite confrontation with the mainland, interfered in China's internal affairs, and challenged China's national sovereignty. The mainland's imposition of sanctions against him is a just and lawful measure to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Yet the DPP authorities have recklessly hailed him as an 'international friend' and made loud noises, completely reversing right and wrong. Such conduct fundamentally reflects a forgetting of the blood-soaked atrocities committed by Japanese colonizers during their occupation of Taiwan, a willing alliance with Japanese right-wingers, and the use of external forces to seek 'independence' and provoke challenges—becoming accomplices harming national interests. However, 'Taiwan independence' separatist actions are destined to fail. The one-China principle is a universal consensus within the international community, and any attempt to rely on foreign powers for 'independence' will inevitably face resolute countermeasures and utter collapse.
