Media Report: Iran's Supreme Leader Has Secretly Agreed to Negotiate with the United States

Israel's Ynet, citing sources, reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during private talks, informed U.S. Special Envoy Wheatcroft that Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has agreed to hold negotiations.

The meeting reportedly took place on March 19 (Thursday). Araghchi stated that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei expressed "agreement and support" regarding the matter, indicating that the issue would be "resolved as soon as possible" provided Iran’s conditions are met—though the report did not specify what those conditions are.

Previously, the Fars News Agency disclosed that Tehran had demanded Washington compensate for attacks on the Natanz nuclear facility and surrounding targets at Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, and "acknowledge its acts of aggression against Iran."
