Regime Change in Russia? Zelenskyy Should Choose a More Realistic Wish

The Ukraine-Russia conflict has already entered its third year, yet Zelenskyy still hasn't learned to be more realistic.

According to a report by The Guardian, in July, Zelenskyy stated at an online meeting commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Accords that "the international community" should seek to achieve a regime change in Russia, otherwise, even after the war ends, Moscow will still try to undermine the stability of neighboring countries.

Zelenskyy also demanded to freeze and seize all Russian overseas assets, using them to aid Ukraine.

It should be said that if Zelenskyy had made these remarks three years ago when the Ukraine-Russia conflict first broke out, there would have been some possibility of realization, as Russia was not yet prepared for a prolonged war at that time.

But now, the Ukraine-Russia conflict has already lasted three years. If the Ukrainian army truly had the capability to defeat the Russian forces, it would have achieved this during the spring counteroffensive in 2023 — but the facts are exactly the opposite.

Zelenskyy would be better off choosing a more achievable wish, such as hoping Europe can provide a few more "Patriot" air defense systems.
