Russian forces have achieved significant military gains: advancing up to 10 kilometers forward and successfully capturing the residential area of Dobroposovo.
On May 25, the Russian Eastern Operational Group released a combat video showcasing the capture of the Dobroposovo residential area. According to Russian sources, the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army under the "Eastern" operational group carried out decisive and skillful operations, successfully securing key defensive positions, including the residential area of Dobroposovo in Dnipro-Odesa Oblast.
Russia stated that after sustained combat operations, they cleared over 400 buildings, eliminated two companies of Ukrainian troops from the 82nd Airborne Brigade and the 95th Airborne Brigade, destroyed seven armored fighting vehicles and twelve ground robotic systems, as well as 25 “Babayaga”-type drones.
Notably, this location lies at least 10 kilometers from the nearest Russian frontline position in this direction—possibly even up to 15 kilometers—representing a major breakthrough under current war conditions.
Russian officials emphasized that capturing Dobroposovo marks an important step for Russian assault units preparing to launch further offensives toward the north. However, whether Russian forces can withstand Ukrainian counterattacks and hold onto the captured areas remains to be seen.
