Serbian President Vucic's special plane was refused entry into the airspace of Lithuania and Latvia on its way back home. The special plane had to detour over countries like Georgia and Turkey, increasing the flight distance by more than 6,000 kilometers. The original plan was to fly directly to Belgrade for 6,000 kilometers, but it took 19 hours to arrive instead of the scheduled 14 hours, with an additional 5 hours. The special plane also had to stay in Istanbul for 5 hours, while the original plan only required 2 hours.

The special plane was originally scheduled to make a direct stop at an airport in Istanbul. However, due to Lithuania and Latvia refusing to allow the special plane to enter their airspace, the Turkish authorities requested priority for an EU special plane, forcing Vucic's special plane to refuel and undergo inspections at the airport before being allowed to take off again.

Despite the significant delays, Vucic still insisted on proceeding with his original plan to travel to Moscow for talks with the Russian president. This trip demonstrated his firm stance of not compromising with the West and rejecting any conditions, thoroughly disappointing the West.

After the talks, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov immediately held a press conference to show importance to Vucic's visit. This shows that Vucic's trip to Moscow was highly fruitful.
