Third bank robbery in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Three bank robberies have occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany within one month. This time, the perpetrators robbed four bank vaults without using violence.

A bank branch in North Rhine-Westphalia, western Germany, had its vaults damaged again. This is the third similar case in the state in recent days.

Following the thefts in Bonn and Gelsenkirchen, the police have confirmed that a third bank robbery occurred in Halle near Bielefeld.

The police confirmed on Friday, January 2, that the incident in Halle occurred around noon on Tuesday, during regular banking hours.

Robbery of four vaults without violence

The perpetrators successfully entered four vaults at a local German savings bank Sparkasse branch and robbed them completely.

According to the police report, the thieves entered the area where the vaults were located without using violence. It is currently unclear whether the room was open at the time, or how they entered.

The police have not yet disclosed the amount stolen, but have informed all affected account holders.

Investigators are currently hoping to find witnesses and are calling on people who were near the bank at the time to contact the police and provide relevant clues.

Three bank robberies within one month

The robbery in Halle is the third similar incident in North Rhine-Westphalia in recent days.

In the case in Bonn, investigators focused on a former employee. At that time, two gold vaults were stolen from a savings bank Sparkasse branch in the city.

The police said they learned of the theft on December 17, and the stolen gold was worth tens of thousands of euros. A 22-year-old former employee is currently a suspect.

In Gelsenkirchen, the thieves broke into a savings bank Sparkasse branch early Tuesday morning and almost pried open all 3,250 customer vaults, stealing cash, gold and jewelry, with an estimated value of at least 30 million euros.

Investigators said they are dealing with a large number of leads. Despite the large volume of information received, the police said they still have no clear breakthrough clues.

A police spokesperson said, "We have received tips from all directions." He also pointed out that experts and investigators from other states have already contacted the local police.
