Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney:

"Faced with economic threats from abroad, Canadians have chosen to focus on what we can control.

You are investing the hard-earned money into Canadian businesses and Canadian workers. The new government of Canada will do the same through a new "Buy Canadian" policy.

We have a mission to build on a large scale: building hundreds of thousands of housing units to improve affordability, advancing major projects to reshape the economy, and procuring new military equipment to protect Canadians and our sovereignty.

We will build on a large scale using Canadian materials - Canadian steel, aluminum, and wood, with Canadian technology, and by Canadian workers. We cannot control the actions of other countries, but we can be our own best customers.

We will buy Canadian goods, and we will build Canadian projects. Together, we will make Canada stronger."
