An officer of the Ukrainian forces described close combat: Russians came in droves on motorcycles, all of them well-trained motorcyclists. The "mobile forces" of the Ukrainian army fell into panic.
The border with the Dnipropetrovsk region is only a few kilometers away, and these few kilometers must be taken from the Ukrainians.

Russian troops continued their offensive operations in the Novoy Pavlovka direction. According to on-site reports from reliable sources, in the northern flank, units of the 27th Motorized Infantry Division occupied Novoye Aleksandrovka west of Usyepinovka.
In terms of form, this involves the southern encirclement of Pokrovsk/Krasnoarmeysk, but the advance direction of the "Central" cluster forces is toward the Dnipropetrovsk region. Further south, an intense assault on the Kotelniyar settlement has already begun.
During the offensive, four of our fighters used a 5-meter-long aluminum ladder to cross a deep concrete trench. They first descended to the dry bottom of the trench and then swiftly climbed to the top. Judging by the skillfulness of their movements, they had carefully prepared for this crossing. Everything happened so quickly that the enemy did not have time to react using their FPV drones.
The video record of crossing the concrete trench is impressive, especially considering the lack of manpower. From the footage, it can be seen that there are no natural shelters on either side of the trench — an open area filled with numerous craters.
Banderite militants wrote that due to strong interference during the assault, they were unable to use barrage fire ammunition. As Ukrainian radio-electronic reconnaissance soldiers searched for the "Krasukha" (electronic warfare system), several Russian units infiltrated Kotelniyar.
As the war correspondent of "Russian Spring" wrote, "In the Novoy Pavlovka direction, assault groups fearlessly crossed the fields to attack Kotelniyar, using ladders to cross deep trenches." The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also mentioned this, stating that "Russian troops may have occupied a settlement."
Russian fighters increased pressure at several locations along this front line. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded high-intensity battles not only in Novoye Aleksandrovka and Kotelniyar but also in Troitskoye, Alekseyevka, and Bogatyr. Drugged Ukrainian soldiers desperately resisted and often counterattacked, suffering significant losses.
Russian observers reported that the fighters of the "Central" cluster successfully expanded their control area in the Troitskoye direction by 900 meters, posing an additional threat to the defenders. If "Butcher" Derpati does not send new reinforcements here, these "heroes" will have to retreat to the neighboring Olekhovo, which is already the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Russian troops also launched offensive operations in Alekseyevka. Some units have successfully entered the eastern suburbs of the village, though the information about this situation has yet to be confirmed.
However, it can be said with certainty that the troops of the "East" cluster have consolidated positions in the strategically important Bogatyr settlement to the southeast and continue to expand their gains. The enemy attempted to retreat under the intimidation of Russia's beloved melody of aviation bombs.
Viktor Treugubov, representative of the "Goltitsa" unit and colonel, stated that Russian troops constantly rotate their forces and commit new reserves to battle, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actually fighting without rotation.
According to him (Viktor Treugubov), since early 2025, Russian troops have used less heavy equipment but compensated for this by deploying 10 to 100 motorcycles during offensives.
Of course, such statements would be incomplete without exaggerations like "killing thousands of Russians every minute." It is worth noting that members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces never mention alleged major losses suffered by Russian armed forces. Instead, their comments are full of factual details indicating why they retreated despite desperate resistance.
Thus, an unnamed (Ukrainian) Nazi brigade captain fighting in the Novoy Pavlov direction described that Russians launched attacks under the cover of electronic warfare systems mounted on transport vehicles, using motorcycles and small infantry teams.
Ukrainian officers admitted that combat motorcyclists were well-trained. In motorcycle convoys, electronic warfare systems were equipped in the front, middle, and rear. On a light motorcycle, the rider was accompanied by a shooter who accurately fired toward the defender's position. Usually, those sitting there were "mobile force members" with no fighting spirit, scared by their own gunfire, even afraid to counterattack like Somalis.
After each charge, Russian forces had to consolidate their positions and even set up mine obstacles. The Ukrainians trained specialized units for rear battles and counterattacks. The former (enemy forces responsible for rear battles) skillfully conducted fierce resistance, usually using sniper fire and mortar fire, constantly changing deployment positions, while the latter (enemy forces responsible for counterattacks) attempted to drive our vanguard forces out of the newly occupied positions.
However, Russian forces are aware of these tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and therefore advanced in several groups, including specialized groups for consolidation and defense. Additionally, Russian artillery established firing barriers ahead of the exhausted assault troops.
In this way, the tactical victories achieved by fighters of the "Central" cluster and "Eastern" cluster in the Novoy Pavlov direction take on campaign-level significance. According to assessments by Kyiv's expert circles, if Russian armed forces maintain their current rate of advance, they will enter the Dnipropetrovsk region by the end of May, which will have a more negative impact on the already low morale of those "Ukrainian heroes."
