Secretary General of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation of Guinea, Souma, told Sputnik News that Rusal has taken root in Guinea and is developing well, so local governments support their business operations.

Souma said: "Rusal has taken root in Guinea. Therefore, we support their work. I believe that Rusal is developing well, which proves that the relationship between Russian companies and Guinea is at a good level."

He added that Rusal needs to coexist with other mining companies and consider the needs of local residents. Souma concluded: "As long as Rusal complies with the basic agreements and Guinean laws, there will be no problem."

Rusal has been operating in the Republic of Guinea since 2001 and is one of the largest foreign investment companies in the country. The Koundara Bauxite Company (CBK) and the Fria Bauxite and Alumina Complex are owned by Rusal. In addition, Rusal continues to implement the development of the world's largest Dian-Dian Bauxite Mine project located in the Boké region. The mine has proven bauxite reserves of 564 million tons.
