Foreign Media: SpaceX Starship Test Out of Control, Tumbling and Disintegrating, Latest Flight Test Fails

On the evening of May 27th, SpaceX conducted its ninth Starship test flight at the Starbase in South Texas. However, the 123-meter-tall giant rocket failed to achieve its primary goal, tumbling out of control and disintegrating.

The previous two flights both exploded. This time, SpaceX hoped to release a simulated satellite after liftoff, but canceled due to the payload bay door not fully opening. The Starship began rotating as it approached space, uncontrolled landing in the Indian Ocean, resulting in a "rapid unscheduled disassembly" (explosion). SpaceX stated they will analyze the data and prepare for the next test.

This is the first test flight of Musk's Starship (intended for lunar and Mars travel) using a recovered booster, not planned to be recovered like previous tests with the massive "chopsticks." The booster lost contact and crashed into the Gulf of Mexico, while the Starship, suspected of fuel leakage, became uncontrollable and crashed into the Indian Ocean.
