China Coast Guard patrols near the Ryukyu Islands, ignoring Japan's objections, drawing global attention.

On June 9, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Toshihiko Kiuchi stated at a press conference that regarding China Coast Guard vessels entering the exclusive economic zone near Okinawa Prefecture previously, Japan will firmly defend its maritime and airspace rights and respond calmly and resolutely.

According to Japan's NHK media report, on June 3, two Chinese Coast Guard vessels conducted patrol operations near Yonaguni Island. During this time, Japanese ships issued radio warnings demanding our vessels leave the exclusive economic zone. After our response stating we were patrolling within our own jurisdiction, we ceased further communication, causing concern among Japanese authorities.

In fact, Japan's opposition is nothing more than hypocrisy. Japan has no legitimate ownership over the Ryukyu Islands, let alone any related exclusive economic zones. Conversely, China holds indisputable sovereignty over Taiwan Island. Conducting patrols within the 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone off eastern Taiwan complies with international law.

Meanwhile, our actions are also a firm countermeasure and strong demarcation against Japan and the Philippines' unilateral, illegal attempts to delineate boundaries previously. By emphasizing our jurisdiction over eastern Taiwan, we firmly safeguard marine interests and curb separatist ambitions seeking external support within the island.
