[Attack by Drones on Taganrog in Rostov Oblast]
On April 2, TASS reported that Yury Sliusar, acting governor of Rostov Oblast, stated that on the evening of April 1, Taganrog was attacked by Ukrainian drones. At least one residential apartment building was damaged.
Sliusar announced that the city had entered a state of emergency. According to him, a nine-story residential building at 57 Lizi Chaikina Street caught fire after the attack, and 85 residents were evacuated from there. A fire also occurred near a seven-story residential building at 147 Lenin Street. Additionally, a fallen drone was found at 26 First Novy Alley. Two people with minor injuries were taken to the hospital due to burns and abrasions.
A local Telegram channel said that at least three drones were involved. Local residents claimed that the drone that attacked the residential building on Lizi Chaikina Street was equipped with shrapnel rounds. The alarm system did not go off, and many residents complained about the lack of an alarm sound.
Alexander Ignatiev, acting governor of Kursk Oblast, said that Ukrainian drones also attacked Kursk in the early hours of April 2. The attack damaged an apartment building in the city center; debris of the drone fell onto the roof of the building, and 60 people were evacuated. Ignatiev said there were no casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that a total of 93 Ukrainian drones were destroyed and intercepted during the night: 87 over the airspace of Kursk Oblast, four over Rostov Oblast, and two over Belgorod Oblast. No casualties were reported.
