Satellite images show suspected landing points of PLA live-fire exercises, only 8.4 nautical miles from Taiwan Island
According to the notice from the Eastern Theater Command, on the 30th, the Eastern Theater Command conducted live-fire shooting around Taiwan Island at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The morning's target was northern Taiwan, while the afternoon's was southern Taiwan.
Notably, the Eastern Theater Command specifically pointed out that the afternoon's live-fire exercise was a joint training involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force, indicating that the number of troops involved was likely considerable.
Currently, official videos have not been released yet, but a foreign commercial satellite company has released images claiming to have captured the suspected landing point of the PLA's afternoon live-fire exercise. The images show about 10 "waves" on the water surface, indicating that approximately 10 shells landed in this area, with high accuracy and negligible deviation.
According to calculations, this landing point is about 8.4 nautical miles from the southernmost tip of Taiwan, Gaolongbei, while it is about 400 kilometers away from the coast of Fujian Province. If the PLA launched rockets from the coastal area of Fujian, the information conveyed would be highly significant. At that time, we also cannot rule out the possibility that these were the landing points of PLA missile launches, nor can we rule out the possibility that the live-fire shells flew over the airspace above Taiwan. The specific situation remains to be confirmed by official videos.
