It's terrifying!

An Ontario Chinese father reported to 51.com, revealing a frightening experience he and his son encountered recently at a McDonald's.

According to Mr. X (a pseudonym), one evening around 7 p.m., he and his son experienced a serious incident at a McDonald's store near the Hamilton expressway.

"Framing, tailing, blocking the restroom door, pepper spray attack," within just a few minutes, their peaceful dinner turned into a nightmare.

Parking lot framing followed by tailing and door blocking with pepper spray

Mr. X recalled: "When I had just parked my car in the McDonald's parking lot and was about to get out, a girl (white, around 20 years old) suddenly approached me, accusing me of hitting her."

"Since my car has been monitored by a dashcam throughout, and it will automatically alarm when someone approaches, I knew she was here to frame me. I told her we would enter McDonald's and she could call the police if she wanted to."

Afterwards, Mr. X entered McDonald's with his child and went into the restroom together. Unexpectedly, that girl had accomplices who followed them into the restroom and blocked the door.

Mr. X said: "Just as I finished washing my hands, a strange man suddenly rushed into the restroom, shouting 'You hit my girlfriend,' and then that girl also followed in, blocking the door perfectly."

"At that moment, the man reached inside his coat, and I suspected he might be hiding a weapon. Since my child was present, I tried to calm myself down and communicate with him." Mr. X still trembles when recalling the event.

But the next second, something even more terrifying happened...

As Mr. X turned to protect his child and reminded his child to step back, the man suddenly pulled out a pepper spray and sprayed it at them recklessly, the burning spray coming straight at them.

The incident happened so quickly that Mr. X couldn't react in time. His face and eyes began to burn intensely, the pain indescribable. His child was also affected by the spray, struggling to breathe and crying loudly.

He hurriedly took his child out of the restroom to seek help. At that time, his eyes were almost unable to open, and he could only ask people around him to call the police and an ambulance. Both his face, neck, and ears were completely red and burned.

Subsequently, the manager of the McDonald's store and on-site customers all came forward to assist, urgently using milk and water to rinse their injuries, causing the restaurant to temporarily shut down.

About 30 minutes later, the police and ambulance arrived and sent them to Juravinski Hospital.

Mr. X said that the police took statements at the hospital, and the case has been officially registered.

Mental and physical trauma hard to heal: Father and son unable to work or attend school

Mr. X said that he and his child didn't return home until 11 p.m. The next morning, his face still felt like it was burned and he couldn't work normally. His 10-year-old child, due to severe shock, also couldn't go to school.

"Thinking about the great trauma my child suffered, I feel extremely angry and powerless," Mr. X said. Therefore, he decided to contact 51.com to expose this matter, hoping to remind more citizens to beware of similar framing and violent incidents, and also hoping that the police can solve the case as soon as possible and bring the assailants to justice.

"Extremely heartbreaking": Exposed apology letter from McDonald's

Mr. X provided a written letter sent by the manager of the involved McDonald's store, describing this incident as "extremely heartbreaking" and expressing the sincerest and heartfelt apologies on behalf of the entire team.

In the letter, McDonald's wrote: "The safety of our guests is paramount. We will closely cooperate with the authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and take steps to review and strengthen safety measures so that such incidents do not happen again."
