Cambridgeshire Police stated that they received a report at 7:39 PM local time on the 1st, regarding multiple people being stabbed on a train that departed from Doncaster in northern England at 6:25 PM heading for King's Cross Station in London.

The involved train stopped at Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire. Social media videos showed armed police boarding the train. The police said: "Armed police have arrived at the scene, and two men were arrested at Huntingdon Station."

A witness said that one of the suspects was waving a large knife, which was later subdued by the police with a Taser.

UK transport police stated that counter-terrorism officers are assisting in the investigation to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the incident.

The Eastern England Ambulance Service stated that a large-scale rescue force has been dispatched to Huntingdon Station, including multiple ambulances, intensive care teams, and three ambulance helicopters.

On the same day, Starmer posted on X, stating that the incident is "deeply worrying," and "my thoughts are with everyone affected, and I thank the emergency services for their timely response."

Due to the incident, a large number of trains in the area have been suspended, and the relevant routes have experienced "severe disruption," with train companies advising passengers to change their travel times.
