Kislytsia: Hoping for Putin's disappearance will make Russia a peaceful country - this is irresponsible
Putinism has deeply rooted in Russian society. No matter when Putin disappears, it cannot solve the problems that Russia currently brings to Ukraine and the world.
Said by the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Kislytsia, during an interview with Ukrinform.
"Those who believe that the physical disappearance of Putin will solve all our problems are completely wrong. Putinism is deeply rooted. To hope that after Putin's disappearance, Russia will somehow miraculously become a peaceful democratic country is a totally irresponsible idea," said the diplomat.
He also warned that after Putin, there may be a situation where "some people, even Western governments" may agree to cooperate with new Russian officials who claim "no connection with Putin's policies." This is a threat.
At the same time, Kislytsia emphasized that the current situation is different from 1991: "There will no longer be a willingness to cooperate with Moscow regardless of what happens there."
According to Russian propaganda media reports, data from the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research shows that as of the end of summer 2025, 80.2% of Russians trust Putin.
