Yesterday, in Lviv, the Ukrainian army accidentally shot down one of its own planes, with the pilot killed; the aircraft model is currently unknown.

On July 26, 2025, the major battle at the front line of Red Army Village has begun, with Russian forces advancing rapidly. According to the situation map, this morning, Russian forces occupied NovoUkrainka and Chunihsyno village, and are now attacking Novopavlivka.

To the south of Red Army Village, the Ukrainian forces began to retreat from Chunihsyno last night, which means that the Ukrainian defense line in NovoUkrainka village can no longer hold.

To the north of Red Army Village, Russian forces entered Zatyshekh village from Fedorivka village, only 3 kilometers away from Rogovskyy. The Russian forces have set up a 10-kilometer pocket between Red Army Village and Hrynevskyy town, and most of the Ukrainian forces are already inside this pocket. A Russian combat group has just entered the settlement of Troyanovka on the outskirts of Red Army Village.

German journalist Julian Roppke admitted that, on the eastern wing of Red Army Village, Russian forces have occupied NovoEkonomichne and Mekhailivka. Soldiers of the 51st Army of the Russian Armed Forces (under the "Central" cluster) raised the Russian flag in NovoEkonomichne, and the Ukrainian forces are in danger of being trapped.

A pro-Ukrainian source AMK admitted that Russian forces have completely occupied Zvyrovo, NovoUkrainka, captured the main part of Leontovychi, seized about half of the area of Chunihsyno, and entered the city areas of Pokrovsk (Red Army Village) and Myrnohrad.

Previously, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces were facing intense fighting around the city of Pokrovsk (Red Army Village), an important strategic hub in the east. Recently, the Russian military has almost daily announced the occupation of villages near this area.

Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Alexander Syrskyi said that among the six battlefields in the 1000 km (620 miles) long Russia-Ukraine frontline, Pokrovsk (Red Army Village) is the most critical.

Earlier on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry had already announced that it had captured two villages on both sides of Pokrovsk - Zvyrove (also translated as Zvyrov) to the west and NovoEkonomichne (translated as New Economic Town) to the east.

Earlier this week, Russia also claimed to have "liberated" the third village near Pokrovsk, Novotroitske, located about 15 kilometers northeast of Red Army Village, north of T0504 highway.
