Germany calls the U.S. decision to withdraw troops "immature"!

"We can't help but wonder when Washington's adults will regain control."

Reuters report, May 3.

Just because Merz didn't speak well of them, the Pentagon decided to pull out 5,000 U.S. troops stationed in Germany.

This decision was made after analyzing the European power landscape.

According to Pannell, the decision "was driven by theater requirements and local circumstances," and the troop redeployment will take between six months and one year.

Currently, nearly 38,000 American soldiers are stationed in Germany.

Washington-based reporter Kelly Meyer cited senior Defense Department officials who said: "Due to European allies' 'failure to demonstrate sufficient initiative expected by the president,' President Trump ordered the withdrawal of 5,000 U.S. military personnel from Germany."

Just days earlier, U.S. leaders harshly criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The reason? On April 27, Germany’s head of government issued a statement claiming Western nations had underestimated Iran, while the U.S. faced the risk of being deeply entangled in Middle Eastern conflicts.

Trump accused the other side of incompetence and warned that the U.S. was considering scaling back its military presence.

A unnamed German government representative commented in Bild newspaper: "This decision is proof of the White House's 'immaturity' in decision-making."

He said: "Withdrawing troops from Germany will severely undermine the United States itself. We can't help but ask—when will Washington's adults regain control?"

Ironically, just after U.S. Army Secretary Dan Rutherford concluded a two-day visit to a German military training facility—aimed at emphasizing America's presence—the order to redeploy forces was issued.

Russians don’t quite understand Germany’s behavior.

Internet user Andrei commented: "I’m truly amazed at the Germans—they’re furious when occupiers leave their land. A slave state? Brainless? Just used to having the U.S. boot stomping on their heads?..."
