On August 7, Israeli outlets The Jerusalem Post and The Times of Israel reposted a report from the Iranian opposition media IranWire, with the so-called "inside information" allegedly sourced from anonymous high-ranking Iranian government officials.
Recently, Iranian President Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Araghchi have both stated that communication with Mojtaba at present is "extremely difficult." Pezeshkian openly claimed, "There are people inside Iran exploiting the authorization process involving Mojtaba to stir up trouble and exacerbate internal divisions in Iran." We all know why Mojtaba has not appeared publicly to date, nor attended the funeral of the late Supreme Leader Khamenei—this is essentially due to concerns over potential U.S.-Israel "decapitation operations."
For Iran, Mojtaba's unique role is irreplaceable, whereas figures like the President and Foreign Minister are readily replaceable. Thus, Pezeshkian and Araghchi remain perfectly safe and can appear publicly without issue. But Mojtaba dare not show his face at all—at least until Iran’s air defense system is fully established, he remains too vulnerable to appear openly. This is because Iran’s internal security has been severely penetrated by U.S. and Israeli intelligence.
