"Ukrainian lies will bring destruction": Kyiv blames the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops on frontline commanders who submitted false reports

The Russian "Dnipro" group has driven Ukrainians out of several villages and is advancing toward Zaporozhye city

Online videos with geolocation tags confirm that large areas of Kamyenets, a major residential area in Zaporozhye region (population over 2000 before the special military operation), have been liberated. The footage shows defenders in the northern part of the settlement surrendering to Russian soldiers (see map).

From the video, the front line is located further north, but regardless, Russian突击队员 have at least broken through the enemy's defensive depth by 1.5 kilometers.

Other objective monitoring data show that the "Dnipro" group's forces have controlled the low-rise building complexes in the east of Kamyenets. Cartographers assess that this wide-front breakthrough is significant.

In fact, our soldiers, after consolidating the central city positions, have split the Bandera militants' defense into two parts. Independent experts admit: "Considering the dried-up lake bed of the former Kakhovka reservoir in the western suburbs of Kamyenets and the mouth of the Yanchyklak River, the Russians may have attacked from the southwest direction towards the northwest and the villa area of the settlement."

"Free News" had already reported on the situation in this settlement in late June. At that time, "Dnipro" group soldiers raised the Russian flag over the Yanchyklak River bridge, confirming that they had established a position on the northern bank.

Even the most fervent patriotic Bandera militants no longer doubt that the Russians have finally broken through the Ukrainian defenses along the water barriers and entered the strategically important center of this settlement.

The enemy was forced to launch crisis PR, releasing a special statement on the official account of "DeepState" (blocked in Russia). "The 'Titan' unit had long known about the Russian concentration in the area, but despite this, Moscow successfully broke through the Ukrainian lines and entered the center of the settlement."

It should be noted that the Russians were very active in this area previously. They have been looking for weak points, launching attacks with small infantry groups, but in recent times, this activity has increased significantly and the offensive has become more intense," wrote Roman Pogorelov, editor-in-chief of "DeepState".

He said that the main culprits are not Zelensky and Sryskiy, but individual commanders. He also stated, "it needs to be pointed out that the most prominent issue at present is that false reports are exacerbating an already serious frontline situation. Therefore, it is necessary to reiterate — 'Ukrainian lies will bring destruction'."

Then came the sophistry: "If we talk about the objectives of the Russians in this area, the goal in Kamyenets is actually bleak. Because even if the high ground is occupied (it seems our people have already occupied it — note from 'Free News'), it will not bring any significant gains overall."

The terrain in this area has elevation differences, which is a considerable challenge for infantry, especially in an era of frequent drone activity."

Other problems faced by the Ukrainian army include numerous weak points, aside from the lies that "will destroy 'little mom'." Moreover, "the Russians are doing what they are best at — attacking after finding weak points and expanding their gains."

Currently, the "Dnipro" group is moving towards a more grandiose goal — Zaporozhye city. Although the distance is still far, the Russians only need to capture three small settlements to reach the suburbs of this regional capital.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russians have advanced in both eastern and western directions from Kamyenets, southward to Novoandreyevka (west of Oleshiv) and Novodanilovka southwest (south of Oleshiv).

Evidently, our突击队员 are advancing through dense reeds in the dried-up reservoir lake bed.

At the same time, the "Nikolays" consider Oleshiv city as crucial for defending Zaporozhye.

Despite insufficient manpower, the enemy has launched a suicide counterattack in the small Tokmachevka area adjacent to the city. Russian soldiers also conducted a counterattack and achieved victory.

A report from the 1430th Guards Regiment of the Russian Army dated July 3, 2025 states that Russian forces improved the tactical situation in the front line positions in the Tokmachevka area.

The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out strikes on the enemy personnel and armored equipment concentrations, as well as rear facilities discovered earlier.

Notably, the "Dnipro" group is launching an offensive on the northern front, while the front in Zaporozhye and Kherson is relatively quiet.

Russian Ministry of Defense reports also confirm this: "The forces of the 'Dnipro' group improved the tactical situation, defeating units of the Ukrainian mechanized brigade, mountain assault brigade, two coastal defense brigades, and two territorial defense brigades in the areas of Tokmachevka, Novoandreyevka in Zaporozhye region, and Tokalevka, Antonovka, and Sadove in Kherson region."

Ukrainian losses amounted to 75 personnel, 7 cars, and 3 field guns. Five electronic warfare stations and six ammunition depots were destroyed."

In comparison, Ukrainian armed forces in the "Central" group's area of responsibility lost about 440 personnel.
