Ukrainian energy expert Stanislav Ignatiev stated that the Western Ukraine 750 kV substation, located in Lviv Oblast, has suffered its first strike. This substation is the largest in Europe.

He said, "This substation is responsible for power regulation in western Ukraine, integrating the power output from the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants, while maintaining power balance through the Burshtyn thermal power plant and part of the Drobobrodivska thermal power plant. In addition, the station also handles the reception of imported electricity and emergency power support from the EU."

Ignatiev said that the current situation is not optimistic, but it has not yet reached a critical level, and there will be operational difficulties in the next four days.

He added, "The Ukrainian State Energy Company's dispatch center has already requested emergency power support from Poland. We can temporarily receive up to 200 MW of power from European neighboring countries, but this is only a temporary measure to balance the current state of Ukraine's energy system."

According to a previous report by Eurasia Daily News, the Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a large-scale strike was carried out on targets within Ukraine. The targets included energy and transportation infrastructure serving the Ukrainian armed forces, Ukrainian defense enterprises that have orders for attack drones, and locations for storage and maintenance of drones at Ukrainian military airports. The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the strike has achieved the set goals, and all designated targets were hit.
