Trump says will indefinitely close Venezuela's airspace
Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday: "To all airlines, pilots, drug traffickers and human traffickers, please consider completely closing the airspace over and around Venezuela."
Earlier this week, Venezuela revoked the operating licenses of six major airlines, including Iberia Airlines and Turkish Airlines, after these airlines heeded Western warnings and suspended their routes following the deployment of US troops in the region.
The Venezuelan Civil Aviation Authority also revoked the operating licenses of LATAM Airlines, TAP Portugal, Avianca Colombia and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, accusing these airlines of participating in "state terrorism actions promoted by the United States."
Last week, the US Federal Aviation Administration warned airlines that flying in Venezuela's airspace poses potential dangers, citing "worsening security situations and increased military activities." (Country Cat)
