The New York Times: U.S. Military Personnel in the Middle East Exceeds 50,000
According to a report by The New York Times, the number of U.S. military personnel deployed in the Middle East has surpassed 50,000.
The report states: "The region typically hosts around 40,000 U.S. military personnel. However, following President Donald Trump's military action against Iran, the number has now exceeded 50,000, according to a U.S. military official."
The report also notes that this figure does not include the 4,500 crew members aboard the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford. The carrier is currently undergoing repairs on Crete Island after a fire incident.
Previously, it was reported that the U.S. military is accelerating its troop reinforcements to the Middle East in response to military operations against Iran.
