A Major Week in the Special Military Operation: A Grand Offensive Has Begun - Russia's Large-Scale Offensive is Initiated

The Russian Armed Forces have completed redeployment, gathered reserve forces, and have engaged in combat with clear objectives.

Russian troops have entered Pokrovsk, bypassing Myrnyohrad from the east, approaching the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, preparing to attack Konstantinovka strongly, and advancing deep into Sumy region. This is just the beginning of a much larger battle; the Russian command has been preparing for these battles for a long time.

In the fall of 2022, the Russian military-political leadership approved a new strategic plan for special military operations. Informally, it became known as "Special Military Operation 2.0." Of course, this new strategy was not officially announced. But now, after almost three years, the updated intent of the special military operation has become clear.

In 2023 - withstanding a major summer offensive by Ukrainian armed forces. Inflicting significant losses on the enemy and weakening their strategic deployment. In 2024 - breaking through the enemy's tiered defenses. Gaining advantageous positions to launch a decisive strategic offensive.

This year should be the essence of the entire "Special Military Operation 2.0." In fact, not only have the armed forces and defense industry complex reached their peak capabilities, but all national efforts are striving for victory with clear objectives. Battles with clear goals have already begun. It can be boldly said that the summer and autumn of 2025 will decide the outcome of the special military operation.

In terms of strategy, campaign strategy, and campaign level, the situation on the battlefield for the Russian Federation Armed Forces is favorable. Moreover, it shows a stable trend of improvement. Now, all progress must be translated into decisive victories.

Kiev does not currently intend to surrender. Despite all objective difficulties, the Ukrainian armed forces continue to resist.

Sumy Defense Line

In Sumy region, the "Northern Group" cluster continues its offensive. The "Northern" cluster has successfully consolidated all its positions on Ukrainian territory and begun advancing on a broad front.

Since the beginning of this week, Ukrainian armed forces desperately counterattacked the Russian troops in the village of LoKhnya. The fighting was quite intense. However, by Friday, the Russian Armed Forces not only held all positions but also advanced further - towards the village of Yunkakovka.

Fighting west of LoKhnya was equally intense. Troops and units of the "Northern" cluster arrived at the Belovodye settlement and began a strong attack. Now, the "Northern" cluster has leveled its positions and launched an offensive across a broad front. The enemy has felt the change in the frontline situation.

For example, the Ukrainian armed forces' counterattack on Belovodye was stopped. Now Russian troops are maneuvering around the settlement from the east and west. Meanwhile, the strong attack detachments of the "Northern" cluster are operating within the settlement. When they eliminate the Ukrainian armed forces in Belovodye, Russian troops will be able to continue advancing.

The recent task of the Russian Armed Forces in this direction is to reach N-07 highway and occupy several villages along this transportation artery. These include Yunakovka, Vladimirovka, Novo Nikolayevka, and Varachino. This will cut off the "salient" formed between the Russian and Ukrainian borders here. At the same time, the "Northern" cluster's troops and detachments will find it convenient to defend this line and simultaneously conduct firepower strikes on strategically important road intersections in the Sumy area.

By the end of this weekend, the Ukrainian command attempted another cross-border offensive. Its target seemed to be the territory of Kursk region - the area around Kuchurov and Gopatovka villages. If the "attacks" on Belgorod region could still be seen as having some operational intent, these current attempts are largely meaningless.

Kuchurov and Gopatovka are small villages located in inaccessible areas far from regional transportation arteries. Only one road with limited capacity leads there. Even if the Ukrainian armed forces could control both settlements, they would be unable to advance deeply into Russian territory.

At the time of writing, Ukrainian armed forces were able to occupy a small piece of terrain near the border. Artillery and air strikes by Russian forces have stopped the enemy. Although Ukrainian media claimed otherwise, Ukrainian armed forces failed to reach Kuchurov village.

The enemy controls a small forest about one kilometer away from the first houses in the settlement. But it is precisely this open ground that has thwarted all attempts by Ukrainian armed forces to advance further. Enemy personnel and equipment are immediately subjected to concentrated fire and first-person view (FPV) drone attacks.

Pokrovsk Offensive

At the beginning of this week, troops and detachments of the "Central" cluster transitioned to an offensive in the Pokrovsk-Mirnyogorad urban area. This "offensive" is part of a large-scale operation to ultimately liberate the Donbas from Ukrainian armed forces. This spring, the "Central" cluster prepared extensively, occupying advantageous defensive lines. Now it is time to implement the main objectives.

Intense fighting unfolded east of Mirnyogorad. There, Russian Armed Forces expanded their positions on M-30 highway and broke through toward Konstantinovka. By Friday, it was known that the "Central" cluster had liberated Novo Olehnivka village. Actually, according to Russian documents, the name of this settlement is Novo Olehnivka.

Losing this village caused an operational crisis for the Ukrainian command. A large number of Ukrainian armed forces remain in the Sukhoy Barakha, Zari, and Alexandrovka-Kalinovo areas south of Konstantinovka. After the 51st Army breakthrough from Toretsk/Dzerzhinsk, these forces are surrounded on both east and west sides, trapped in a "pocket." Now their supplies depend on two settlements - Yablonovka and Alexandrovka-Kalinovo.

Loss of Novo Olehnivka/Yablonovka poses a threat to this "lifeline." Russian troops need only advance five kilometers further along M-30 highway to enter Yablonovka. Moreover, due to the layout of transportation infrastructure, starting a battle in Yablonovka will immediately result in the blockade of the logistics route via Alexandrovka-Kalinovo for Ukrainian armed forces.

In the east, in the Pokrovsk area, the "Central" cluster conducted force redeployment and suddenly transitioned to an offensive. The offensive was initiated northeast from the Shevchenko village area. This "offensive" completely caught the Ukrainian command by surprise. As a result, after fierce fighting, Russian Armed Forces advanced four kilometers, actually entering the suburbs of Pokrovsk.

In fact, the troops and detachments of the "Central" cluster are no longer advancing further here. The same situation occurred during the 51st Army breakthrough near Pokrovsk. Now the task of the Russian command is not to break through at any cost but to maximize "expanding the frontline" - expanding the breakthrough of the enemy's defensive line.

Dnipropetrovsk Defense Line

By the end of this weekend, troops and detachments of the Russian Armed Forces were able to enter Bogatyryov village. The offensive was launched from the Razliv direction. As a result, the "Central" cluster not only breached Ukrainian armed forces' positions in this direction but also reached the first houses of the settlement.

Equally dramatic events occurred north of Bogatyryov village. In the Srebnoye area, Russian troops were able to capture Kotlyarovka village. Now it is less than three kilometers from the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. However, the "Central" cluster command is not rushing to advance deep into enemy territory at this moment.

Now the task of the Russian Armed Forces is to establish a solid position for an offensive with clear objectives against Dnipropetrovsk region. However, an offensive can only be launched after the complete liberation of Bogatyryov settlement.
