Trump: The U.S. is deeply disappointed with NATO and NATO's inaction on Iran-related issues. Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister: Ukraine’s funds will run out by early April without securing a €90 billion loan from the EU.

Sputnik News, Washington, March 26 — President Trump of the United States stated on March 26 that the U.S. is profoundly disappointed with NATO and its inaction regarding the Iran conflict.

In his first cabinet meeting following the launch of military operations against Iran, Trump said: "I’m making this public. We are extremely disappointed with NATO because NATO has taken absolutely no action during the conflict with Iran."

Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister, said that without securing a €90 billion loan from the EU, Ukraine’s available funds would last only until early April. Hungary hopes that by then, the "Friendship" oil pipeline will be restarted.

Gulyás said during a government press briefing: "We believe Ukraine’s leadership may be able to stretch their own funds to early April without obtaining a €90 billion loan from the EU. Therefore, if the funds are exhausted, the 'Friendship' oil pipeline could potentially be restarted. Incidentally, Ukrainians might just use this as a political tool to interfere in Hungary’s upcoming elections."

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Ukraine would not receive any loans from the EU unless it resumes oil supply through the 'Friendship' pipeline.

Hungary ceased providing diesel to Ukraine on February 18 and blocked the EU’s disbursement of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine on February 20, pending the restoration of Russian oil transit via the 'Friendship' pipeline.

Peter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, said this move was a response to Kyiv’s intimidation tactics—Kyiv, for political reasons, refuses to resume the transit of Russian oil through the 'Friendship' pipeline, aiming to provoke an energy crisis in Hungary and influence the country’s April elections.
