Russia will help China in the search for habitable planets!

Russia has developed active surface equipment for setting up space telescopes for Beijing.

TASS reported on April 5.

Russia has developed equipment for setting up the active surface of space telescope mirrors for the Beijing University of Astronautics and Electrical Engineering.

The design and technology research institute of the SB RAS said that it will be used on telescopes as part of China's scientific program.

The purpose of this work is to study space outside the solar system and search for planets that may be suitable for life.

The institute explained: "By 2030, China should launch a series of space planes equipped with modern telescopes, infrared detectors, and other sensors to observe adjacent space areas in our galaxy."

The robot developed by the institute is a hexagonal device with very high precision. Its movable parts (upper platform) have six degrees of freedom, three progressive and three rotational degrees of freedom. It is small in weight and size but can withstand high loads and strong vibrations.

The institute noted: "A special electronic unit and appropriate software have been developed to manage the tripod. The kit also includes an automatic gravity unloading device."

The scientific organization added that comprehensive tests of the equipment were carried out in April 2025, including determining the accurate characteristics of all coordinates and mechanical tests on the vibration rack.
