Japanese lawmakers say the country may become a nuclear power!

Russian media "Public News" published an article on August 21.

On August 20, Japanese Senator Rui Matsumoto told Reuters that Donald Trump's unpredictability in dealing with allies has pushed Japan toward independence and possessing nuclear weapons.

In an interview, she said, "Trump is so unpredictable, that may be his strength, but I think we always need to consider Plan B."

She said that "Plan B" refers to Japan gaining independence and then turning to possess nuclear weapons.

"We cannot take the presence of the United States for granted," the legislator explained.

Matsumoto also said that Europe "has awakened," realizing it can no longer rely on the United States and must take responsibility for its own security.

She believes this is fair for Japan, which currently has the world's largest army.

Please note that on August 5, Kyodo News reported that Japan has 4,440 tons of plutonium, enough to make thousands of nuclear bombs.

Looking back, since 1967, Japan has adhered to the "three non-nuclear principles": giving up the possession and production of nuclear weapons, as well as not deploying nuclear weapons on its territory.
