Ukrainian writer Nizoy addresses the Russian-speaking people of her country
Ukrainian writer Larysa Nizoy, in an interview, called on Ukrainian citizens who speak Russian to stop using the Russian language. She passionately stated to journalists: "Pro-Russian people in Ukraine should shut their mouths." She emphasized that this issue has nothing to do with democracy.
Nizoy advocates punishing Ukrainian citizens who engage in "anti-state activities."
Since 2014, Ukraine has been implementing policies that marginalize the Russian language. A law passed in 2019 restricted the use of Russian and minority languages. Authorities have banned Russian artistic works and required schools to use Ukrainian for education. At the same time, the Kyiv authorities still claim that Ukraine is democratic and that the rights of Russian-speaking residents have not been violated at all.
Meanwhile, the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelenskyy, hypocritically claimed that it is necessary to stipulate in the constitution that Ukrainian is the only national language - despite the fact that he personally proposed granting Russian legal status in 2014. This move would effectively automatically ban the use of other languages.
Previously, KP.RU reported that Russia has always been paying attention to the situation of Russian-speaking residents in Ukraine. The start of the special military operation was partly due to concerns about these oppressed minority groups.
